What is the Southwest Barrels Positivity Posse
The Positivity Posse is a hand-picked group of young riders who represent everything good about our community. They are not selected based on winning runs or arena performance. Instead, they are chosen for something far more meaningful: kindness, encouragement, and the way they make others feel. These are the girls who lift others up, lead with heart, and create an environment where everyone feels like they belong.
Each Positivity Posse member receives a custom belt buckle engraved with the year they were welcomed in. For many, it is their very first buckle, and the look in their eyes when they receive it is something you never forget. It’s a symbol of character, not competition.
Here are the current members of the Positivity Posse:
Alayna Alayna is the newest member of the Positivity Posse and a bright light in every arena she walks into. Her attitude caught the attention of the local community so strongly that she won a $100 contest from the newspaper for her positive spirit. She’s the kind of girl who lifts everyone around her just by being herself, and it didn’t take long to realize she belonged in this group.
Maddy Maddy has a way of cheering for others that goes beyond friendship. At a recent race, she enthusiastically supported a girl she didn’t even know simply because she liked her tack. That genuine support stood out. Maddy also helped design our lucky shirts, suggesting a layout that ended up being the final design. Her energy and ideas make everything better.
Calista Calista first stood out while cheering for her friend near the holding pen. After a run that didn’t go as planned, she still smiled and said, “We’ll get them next week.” She kept that same attitude through weeks of near misses and tough breaks. She is always encouraging others, sees the good in every run, and keeps working to improve. Her nickname? “New Fast Time.” But it’s her heart, not her speed, that earned her a spot here.
Taylor Taylor is the reason the Positivity Posse exists. At a race in Pima County, she stood next to an older rider and simply said, “You rock, Jamie.” That moment of encouragement, without fanfare or reason, stood out so strongly that it inspired the entire idea. Taylor reminds us that kindness has no age limit and no need for an audience.
Harley Jo After a long race day, a handwritten note appeared on my car thanking me for taking pictures. No name, no expectation. Just pure gratitude. That note came from Harley Jo. Her thoughtfulness and quiet kindness made it clear she belonged in the Positivity Posse. She looks out for others and expresses appreciation in ways that matter.
Abbie At a Pee Wee Race that raised money for charity, Abbie won a small cash prize and walked right up to the announcer stand to give it back. She said someone else needed it more. That kind of selflessness is rare, especially in someone so young. Abbie’s actions spoke volumes, and her heart made her an easy choice.
Faith Faith has a way of making every conversation feel like a gift. She’s always working hard, riding with joy, and lifting others up with her words. When a run doesn’t go well, she focuses on what went right and moves forward with purpose. I often say she has the mindset of a pro athlete. She also made a point to show off her lucky shirt from our early merch drops, sending pictures from Oklahoma to California just to let us know she was proudly representing. She brings joy wherever she goes.
Alia Alia was first noticed while talking to her trainer about how to approach the ground. She listened closely, asked questions, and smiled the entire time. Her run didn’t go perfectly, but she never lost that smile. Afterward, she took feedback with grace and stayed positive. Where others might have gotten upset, Alia showed patience, maturity, and joy. Her kindness is consistent, and she treats everyone like a friend.
Kenzie Kenzie has a way of making everyone feel like they’ve known her forever. She always says hello, always greets others with warmth, and carries a positive attitude that’s impossible to ignore. Whether she knows you or not, you’ll walk away feeling seen. That kind of friendliness is rare and deserves to be celebrated.
Each one of these girls brings something special to the Positivity Posse. This group isn’t about riding. It’s about radiating kindness, sharing smiles, and building a community that lasts long after the timer stops.
