Sydney Graham of Abilene, Texas and 2019 stallion Dupont First (Duponte x First Fervor x First Down Dash) continue to climb the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world standings as they look for their first National Finals Rodeo qualification. Graham is No. 8 in the WPRA world standings as of August 4 with $104,872 in season earnings, majority won aboard “Trump.”
The young stallion continues to make his mark as a performer in the arena with earnings exceeding $150,000. On August 1, 2026 Graham and Trump ran a 16.49 on a WPRA standard pattern in Heber City, Utah at the Mountain Valley Stampede, setting the new record. The record on a WPRA standard pattern was formerly held by Makenna Shook and XV Mario with a 16.53 in Burley, Idaho in August 2025.

Barrel Horse News: What is “Trump” like to be around outside the arena?
Sydney Graham: Trump is all business in the arena. Outside of the arena he is a big goofball. He’s always doing something funny. He is the most personable horse I own. A giant puppy!
BHN: What has been your biggest challenge with him?
Graham: My biggest challenge with him, and it’s not even his fault, is waiting. Waiting for Gods perfect timing.
BHN: What makes him so competitive?
Graham: I think what makes him so competitive is his drive to win. He wants it, he craves it.
BHN: What’s his riding routine at home?
Graham: At home, to keep him in shape we ride out on our half-mile track and trail ride a lot to keep his mind craving the barrels.
BHN: What is your favorite quality about Trump?
Graham: My favorite quality that Trump has is his personality and trainability. He’s so funny and so easy.
BHN: If Trump had a walk up song before a run what would it be and why?
Graham: I think his walk up song would be Crazy Train (by Ozzy Osbourne) saying “all aboarddddd” as he’s going down the alley. It’s just fitting as we call him the Trump Train.
BHN: Describe Trump’s favorite set up to run in?
Graham: Trump will run fast in any set up, but I do believe he has absolutely thrived in the wide open spaces. Side gate, closed gate, crowd — he’s going to be fast.
BHN: What is Trump’s pre and post run routine?
Graham: Pre-run warm up is very minimal. He’s easy so as long as he’s warm he’s ready. Post-run we do lots of cookies, electrolytes and poultice his legs.
BHN: Does he have any funny quirks or habits people might not know about?
Graham: I know it may sound too good to be true, but he seriously does not have quirks. Besides making alfalfa soup he is a civil citizen.
BHN: What’s something about Trump that only someone who rides him would notice?
Graham: Something that people may not know about him is, how good he is. Truly a citizen. He’s so kind, so good, and so easy.
